About Kinapod Disc
Kinapod Disc is a mobile app that measures flying-disc throw metrics using the motion sensors of an AirPod mounted in the centre of the disc. Your throws and sessions are stored on your device. Some features are optional and only run with your permission.
What information we collect
We collect only what is needed to operate and improve the service.
- Technical data from our web server such as IP address and browser user agent when you visit our website.
- Contact information that you provide such as email when you join the waitlist, contact us, or request beta access.
- In-app data that you record — throws and session metrics (spin, revolutions, speed, airborne time) and the underlying AirPod motion data — which is stored on your device.
- Optional anonymous data that you choose to share (see below).
- Optional heart rate, only if you enable it and grant permission through a supported source such as AirPods Pro 3 and newer or a Bluetooth heart rate monitor.
Optional anonymous data sharing
To help us improve the throw-detection and measurement algorithms, you can opt in to share anonymous data. When enabled, the app uploads the raw AirPod motion data and computed throw metrics from your sessions, together with a random installation identifier and basic technical details such as app and device model. This never includes your name, email, location, heart rate, or anything that identifies you. It is off by default, you are asked before it is turned on, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.
Location data
Kinapod Disc does not use GPS and does not collect your location.
How we use information
- To deliver core features of the app and show and store your throw metrics.
- To improve throw detection and measurement accuracy using the anonymous data you choose to share and your feedback.
- To communicate with you about updates, beta access, surveys, and support. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies to remember preferences and to measure aggregated traffic and interactions. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers that help us operate the website or app (for example cloud storage for anonymous motion data). These providers are required to keep information confidential and to use it only to provide the contracted services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
Third party links and platforms
The app may integrate with third party platforms such as Strava if you connect them. Their privacy practices apply when you use them. We are not responsible for their content or policies.
Data retention and deletion
On-device throws and sessions remain until you delete them or remove the app. You can turn off anonymous data sharing at any time in Settings, which stops new data from being uploaded. To request deletion of previously shared anonymous data or of contact information you provided, email us and include your installation identifier if available.

Software License Agreement
End User License Agreement for Kinapod Disc. Please read carefully before using the app.
1. License grant
Kinapod grants you a limited, non transferable, non exclusive license to install and use the Kinapod Disc mobile application on devices you own or control for your personal use.
2. Ownership
The app is licensed, not sold. All rights, title, and interest in and to Kinapod Disc and its content belong to Kinapod or its licensors.
3. Restrictions
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except where allowed by law. You may not rent, lease, or sublicense the app. You may not remove or alter any proprietary notices.
4. Health and safety
Kinapod Disc provides informational metrics only. Mounting hardware in a disc and throwing it is done at your own risk — make sure the AirPod is securely fitted and throw only in a safe area, clear of people, property, and traffic. Always use your own judgment.
5. No warranties
The app is provided as is without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kinapod disclaims all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kinapod is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or loss of data or property, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
7. Termination
This license terminates if you fail to comply with the EULA terms. Upon termination you must stop using the app and delete it from your devices.
8. Third party platforms
The app works with Apple iPhone and AirPods hardware and may integrate with third party platforms such as Strava. Use of those platforms is subject to their own terms and policies. Apple, AirPods, and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Strava is a trademark of Strava, Inc. Kinapod is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc. or Strava, Inc.
