What is Kinapod Run
Kinapod Run is an iPhone app that turns your AirPods into a running footpod. Securely tuck an AirPod under the laces on your shoe, prop your iPhone on the treadmill, and the app streams pace, power, cadence, and advanced running metrics in real time. No extra hardware, no subscription to a $300 wearable.
Which devices are supported
Recent iPhone models and AirPods with motion sensors — standard AirPods (3rd generation and newer), AirPods Pro (2019 and newer). Health data features require iOS with HealthKit permissions. Smartwatches are optional.
Do I need a smartwatch or footpod
No extra gear. Kinapod Run uses your AirPods as the footpod and your iPhone as the display. If you already own them, you are set. If you have a smartwatch or chest strap and choose to connect through HealthKit, Kinapod Run can also include heart rate and other available data.
How accurate is it
On par with premium footpods and watches. Kinapod Run combines AirPod motion with iPhone sensors to estimate pace, distance, and incline. Accuracy improves after a short calibration in your first few sessions, and you can align distance to the treadmill reading at the end of any run for perfect totals.
Does it work without internet
Yes. You can record workouts offline. Data sync and backup occur when the phone is back online.
Can I export to Strava or Apple Health
Yes. You can export workouts to Strava and save data to Apple Health if you grant permission. You control these connections.
What about heart rate
Kinapod Run can read heart rate from Apple Health if you use a supported source such as Apple Watch or a Bluetooth chest strap that writes to Health. Heart rate is optional.
Do you track GPS location
No. Kinapod Run focuses on treadmill running. GPS is not used by default. If a feature needs approximate motion or location, the app will ask for permission first.
What data do you collect
We collect only what is needed to operate the service, such as workout timestamps and metrics you record, optional Health data that you approve, and basic technical logs. See our Privacy page for details.
How is my data protected
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored securely. You can request deletion of your account data at any time by contacting support.
Battery usage
Treadmill recording uses sensors but is optimized for efficiency.
Pricing and availability
Kinapod Run is in early access. Pricing will be announced before public release. Early testers may receive promotional access.
